Flavour Enrichment

Coffee mixes — such as 3-in-1 single-serve and instant cappuccino — are a convenient way to drink coffee. However, the soluble coffee used in these products loses some of the aroma typical of freshly brewed coffee, due to processing. Natural caramelised sugars can enrich and enhance the flavour, bringing it closer to the experience of freshly brewed coffee. This allows producers to meet the increasingly demanding taste preferences of consumers.

Optimise recipe costs

In coffee mixes, soluble coffee accounts for a significant part of the total recipe costs. Natural caramelised sugar can partly replace soluble coffee without changing the flavour profile. RTD coffee

RTD coffee in cans or bottles is a dynamic market. Growth is fuelled by several factors, including health consciousness among consumers and an increasing demand for convenient products. Natural caramelised sugars can provide a richer and more balanced coffee aroma in RTD coffee. In addition, they enhance the quality of the aftertaste, providing a smooth coffee experience.

Roast & Ground Coffee

Roast and ground coffee do not last as long as whole beans. Once ground coffee is exposed to air, it should be consumed within a week or two for the freshest and most flavourful taste. Natural caramelised sugars can extend this shelf life by an extra few weeks. This ensures the delicious aroma and great taste of freshly brewed coffee for an extended period of time. 

Coffee vending machines

In coffee vending machines with roast and ground coffee, each cup is freshly brewed but the time for brewing is short. It is sufficient to extract flavour, but not long enough to obtain the right colour. Natural caramelised sugars can be used to correct colour and reduce the amount of ground coffee per cup. The result is a cup of freshly brewed coffee with great taste and perfect colour at a lower cost. 

Coffee Pods and Capsules

Nowadays a variety of delicious coffee pods are available: from black coffee from various regions to creamy latte macchiato and plant-based flat white. The limited volume can be a challenge with pods that do not only contain coffee solids.
